Reading opens doors to imagination, opportunity, and lifelong learning — but for too many children, access to quality books is limited. That’s why in partnership with Natalia’s Books For Kids, United Way is hosting a Children’s Book Drive, and we’re inviting the whole community to help put books into the hands of kids who need them most.
From now through September 9th, you can drop off used children’s books at our participating locations. Whether it’s a well-loved picture book, a middle-grade adventure, or an inspiring teen novel, your donation can spark curiosity, build confidence, and create lasting memories for a young reader.
Why Your Book Matters
Early access to books not only builds literacy skills but also strengthens school readiness, nurtures creativity, and boosts a child’s sense of possibility. Every book you donate could be the one that inspires a future scientist, artist, teacher — or simply makes bedtime a little more magical.
How to Give
- Collect new or gently used books for ages 0–18.
- Drop them off at our designated collection sites: Monkey Tree, Snoopeeland, Beyond the Forest, Sass at Home, St Helens Parks and Recreation, and Scappoose Wauna Credit Union.
- Spread the word — tell friends, share our posts, and encourage others to join in!
